Did you know? Leicester Castle’s Great Hall held three English Parliaments. That means a lot of very important people all gathered here at Leicester Castle.

Parliament of Bats. The Parliament in 1426 became known as the Parliament of Bats. The people were so worried about everybody fighting that swords were banned. So the men all came along with bats instead! Not the animals...... Big sticks to hit each other with! Times were very different then. Today I don’t think you would see everybody hitting each other with bats in the House of Commons.

Let's see more of the building? Why not move to the Public Gallery at the back of the room so we can get a different view.

And when you have found it just press CONTINUE.
